Have you?  No?  Just me then…LOL!

Seriously though, there must have been a time in your life when you were wondering why everyone else was reacting to something differently than you?  Perhaps the person you were with once, really surprised you by their reaction to something that you said, or someone else said….and you thought to yourself; “Is it me or was that a little odd?”  Or  “That’s a bit of an odd reaction!”

Well the answer is – it’s not odd. It’s just that your design is different to theirs.  Here’s the thing, there are 5 main types of people in the world according to the Genetic S.T.Y.L.E Blueprint that we share with our Why’s Members (people who have found their Why/Purpose) in the Find Your WHY Foundation.

And when you know what type you are, suddenly a lot of stuff makes sense.

You realise you or your outlook on life is not odd and that instead of fighting it, you can go with the flow. When you know your S.T.Y.L.E it becomes much easier.  Instead of trying to fit in with the people around you, you understand that you can be yourself, and they can be themselves and it is incredibly powerful to have this knowledge because you can also appreciate the other persons point of view too.

Let me give you an example.

I have a friend who is a Specialist (one of the 5 types) with a “fixed emotion”.

She is great at taking a plan and turning it into a set of steps, or an idea and turning it into a blog.

One characteristic of Specialists with a “fixed emotion” is that when they have a big decision to make, they tend to sleep on things and check in with themselves.  This is part of the strategy for this S.T.Y.L.E.

However, if they are with a different type (or raised by parents who are a different S.T.Y.L.E), they can sometimes be brought up to feel like they should check in with others about their big decisions and be influenced by others.

This doesn’t feel good to Specialists.  They are quite happy to gather information and other people’s opinions, but they won’t be rushed into big decisions and they won’t (or shouldn’t) go along with others for the sake of it.  Other people can see them as dogmatic or stubborn, which is not really the case.  It’s just that their decision-making process is to listen to themselves and check internally for a yes or a no.

Once you know that you are a Specialist (or whichever of the other 4  S.T.Y.L.E’s  you are) it can be liberating.  You know that it is alright for you to be the way you are, and that gives you the confidence to live your life to your ‘design’.

And once you are living true to your design, everything is so much easier.  Instead of going and asking others what they think you should do and fretting about not taking their advice, as a specialist, you know your design is to listen to your feelings and make decisions just based on that, and you can start to fully live.

Does that make sense?

And whilst this may sound new to you, it isn’t really.  As a child we were told stories to help us learn about the world we were about to grow up in (watch any Disney movies to see the “message”).  Do you remember the story of the Ugly Duckling?

He was unhappy because he didn’t understand why he was different from the other ducklings.  He tried so hard to be the same and fit in, but it just didn’t work.  No matter how hard he tried he wasn’t like the other ducks and it made him feel bad.  Right up until he realised he was actually a swan, and it was fine to be a swan.  Once he knew his design was different, he could then start to enjoy living as the Swan he was rather than trying to fit in as a Duck, which he wasn’t and could never be.

People who have been through our process, suddenly understand all sorts of behaviours, traits and thoughts in themselves.  This makes them feel like they have been liberated and have ‘permission’ to be themselves.  The confidence this gives them allows all sorts of other positive changes to happen in their lives.

I was proud to see some of our “WHY’s Women and one of our WHY’s Men” at the book launch of our joint venture book “Transformation Lessons”, 38 Insights to Manifest Your Best Life, which took place in London last night.

Some of the WHY’s community are now part of the Association of Transformational Leaders Europe (ATL), who got together to write this book. Some came along to the event as guests.  All of them have used their new-found knowledge to transform their own lives and live their design confident in this newfound knowledge of themselves and others.

This is how I know that my Why/my purpose – which is “To guide 10 million disheartened souls, who are at a crossroads to help them STOP asking “Why me?” and START saying “Why NOT me!” –  will be reached,  through collaboration, clarity of self and community.
